Delicious detox juice recipes

Compartir con tus amigos

Is your body still feeling the residual effects of an overindulgent December? It can take a while for our systems to rebalance after a period of excess and you may be left feeling bloated, sluggish and in need of a pick-me-up.

Get a juice boost

One way to ditch the New Year bloat is to boost your intake of beneficial nutrients, vitamins and minerals with natural, healthy juices. Because juice has no fibre, it is extremely easy on your digestive system and allows more of the goodness to be absorbed by the body and put to work in helping you feel rejuvenated.

Detox juice recipes

Below are two of the best tasting, healthiest and most detoxifying juice recipes you will find and better yet, you won’t have to travel far and wide to buy expensive, hard-to-find ingredients; everything can be found easily and cheaply in your local supermarket or greengrocer.

Key detox juice ingredients

Beetroot

This beautiful red root is packed with iron, calcium, antioxidants, betaine and B vitamins and is one of the best ingredients to help maintain optimum liver health. The liver is your body’s detoxification hub, filtering out toxins and keeping the body in balance. Emily A. Kane, N.D., Lac, explains that “Beetroot improves liver function largely by thinning the bile, allowing it to flow more freely through the liver and into the small intestine."

Juicing raw beetroot maintains more of the beneficial nutrients than eating cooked beetroot, giving your body as much goodness as possible. It also transforms any juice into a gorgeous bright pink colour, just be careful not to spill!

The beauty of ginger is its ability to spice up any juice. Ginger goes with everything and not only tastes great, but does great things for your body. Despite its spicy taste, ginger has soothing, anti-inflammatory properties and has been used to treat nausea for thousands of years.

Tip: Ginger juice can be time consuming to prepare so plan ahead; peel and chop a batch of ginger before putting it through your juicer, then pour the ginger juice into an ice cube tray and freeze. You can then simply pop out a ‘ginger cube’ whenever you want to add a little bit of spice to a juice or smoothie or mocktail.

Parsley

A side effect of overindulgence can be dull skin that is lacking radiance, or an unwelcome party of pimples that won’t seem to shift. Parsley is an excellent source of vitamin A, which is essential for healthy cell growth. Vitamin A in parsley promotes healthy skin by supporting skin cell growth and helps boost skin radiance and keep skin clear and healthy.

Juicing parsley is an easy way to get its fantastic skin benefits. Simply tear off a handful and put it through the juicer, stalks and all for a refreshing addition to any recipe.

The sensitive skin experts since 1997

Did you know it’s actually worse to put toxins on your skin than to eat them? Your liver breaks down harmful toxins in your food, but chemicals applied to your skin can pass directly into your bloodstream, by-passing your liver and accumulate in your organs and fatty tissue.

If you eat and drink clean, why not also switch to natural and organic beauty products that nourish, protect and balance your skin? The skin is your body’s largest organ and can absorb up to 60% of what you put on it, meaning that the products you use on your skin can enter your bloodstream.

Made without harsh chemicals such as SLS, parabens and drying alcohol, Green People products are effective, gentle and suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Our skin, hair and body care products are made using the finest natural ingredients that work in synergy to bring your skin back into its natural healthy balance.
